Description
The chore coat first hit the scene in the late 19th century France. Meant for laborers, farmers and railroad workers alike, chore coats took a beating and mostly made from twills and canvas they made sure to stand the test of time. A slightly roomier fit, larger waist pockets and two chest pockets- the chore coat is meant to be the perfect outerwear layering piece that can hold many, many things. For a slightly oversized fit, choose your normal size, for a more "tailored" look, size down.
This style uses 14oz 100% cotton denim from Vidalia Mills from Vidalia Louisiana. Vidalia Mills not only weaves their denim in Vidalia but they sometimes grow a portion of the cotton crop there. But whatever isn't grown there, is sourced from within the US. Fun fact, when Cone Mills shut down their US plant and decided to no longer produce in the US, Vidalia MIlls bought up all the shuttle looms and started their own denim operation.
100% cotton selvedge denim jackets are meant to be a little tough to break in. We like to call them the masochist, the person wearing this jacket is a slight glutton for punishment. The initial try on is stiff but the reward is by far the best pay off. The natural wear patterns you get from 100% cotton denim is the best, most beautiful wear patterns you can get. It's worth the few weeks of initial breaking in because once you've worn them for at least 6 months without washing and you give them that first wash- you're in for a treat.

Wear & Care
Raw denim is a blank canvas and how much you wear your garment will determine how quickly you start to see your own personal wear patterns. Your garment is an investment and in order to get the best price per wear out of it, follow these rules:
- You need a long length of time wearing your garment in order to chip away the indigo, revealing your own personal wear patterns
- Washing your garment too soon will stunt your fades and you’ll just end up with a boring flat pair of jeans without dimension
- Soak your garment in cold water and use a gentle detergent, washing them by hand. this take a little extra time but it’s worth it
- If you must wash it in the washing machine, don’t over fill the load, turn the garment inside-out and wash on the delicate cycle using cold water only
- DO NOT PUT YOUR GARMENTS IN THE DRYER!!! We cannot stress this enough. Drying your denim will shorten the garments life expectancy tremendously. The combination of the high heat and the tumbling of the dryer breaks down the cotton fibers, affecting its durability
- If you experience a spill, we recommend spot cleaning, blotting with a damp cotton cloth. Try not to rub too much, you’ll rub away indigo and be left with a lighter spot than the rest of your garment
